The service

LecturePen is a web service for recording, transcribing and organising notes. Create your own LecturePen account and keep its sign-in details safe. Only record or upload material you have permission and authority to use. You keep your rights in your content; we process it to provide the features you request.

Credit and prices

There is no subscription. The available packs are £10 for £10 credit, £40 for £50 credit, and £75 for £100 credit. These are one-off payments; automatic top-ups are not enabled. The checkout shows the amount payable before you pay.

Recording processing costs 3p per recorded minute, rounded up to the nearest penny, including its transcript and first notes. The maximum is 120 minutes and 24 MB per recording. The price is shown before you confirm processing. Paid and bonus credit are used proportionally, with paid usage rounded up to a penny. Recording, reading, manual editing and downloading do not themselves trigger an AI charge. Any separately enabled AI request must show its price before confirmation.

Refunds and unsuccessful processing

You may request a refund of your unused paid balance through the credit page. There is no minimum refund amount. Remaining promotional credit is removed when the refund completes. Refunds go to the original payment method and may take time to appear at your bank. Promotional credit is not redeemable for cash.

Credit is reserved before AI processing. A confirmed rejection before processing returns the reservation. An uncertain outcome may remain reserved while it is checked, to avoid duplicate processing or charging. Contact us if work is missing, a charge is wrong or a delivered result is defective. This policy does not limit your statutory consumer rights, including applicable cancellation rights and remedies.

Checking and keeping your work

AI can make mistakes. Check names, numbers, quotations and conclusions against the original before relying on or sharing the output. Audio timestamps are approximate. Notes are not professional advice or a guarantee of academic results.

Keep copies of important work. Browser recording can be interrupted by sleep, calls, browser closure or device limits. Account storage is limited to 500 documents and 500 MB of audio. The help page explains local recovery and account saving, and the privacy notice explains processing and storage.

Problems and changes

Contact us first so we can investigate and put things right. We may restrict misuse or requests that threaten service reliability. Prices for future processing may change; the price shown when you confirm applies to that request. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.
